Hillel Roman is based in Tel-Aviv, his works deal with various aspects of the political, visual and technological order and their interconnectedness. His practice searches for the connection between the universal and the local, and consists of charcoal drawings, large-scale participatory constructions, and the invention of futile machines.

Hillel Roman lebt in Tel Aviv und beschäftigt sich in seinen Arbeiten mit verschiedenen Aspekten der politischen, visuellen und technologischen Ordnung und deren Verflechtung. Seine Praxis sucht nach der Verbindung zwischen dem Universellen und dem Lokalen und besteht aus Kohlezeichnungen, groß angelegten partizipativen Konstruktionen und der Erfindung sinnloser Maschinen.
On Wednesday, August 20 at 6 PM, our current AIR_Frankfurt guest artist Seokwoo Song will talk about the artistic practices and approaches that have developed throughout his ongoing series from the past to the present. His three-month residency in Frankfurt is taking place in cooperation with MMCA Residency Goyang. He will discuss how he stages scenes and approach images through the traces and density revealed within the layered “relationships” embedded in his work.
Am Mittwoch, den 20. August um 18 Uhr wird unser aktueller AIR_Frankfurt Gastkünstler Seokwoo Song über seine künstlerische Praxis und seine Projektideen sprechen. Seine dreimonatige Residency in Frankfurt findet in Kooperation mit MMCA Residency Goyang statt. Er wird darüber sprechen, wie er seine Szenen inszeniert und sich den Bildern nähert, indem er die Spuren und die Dichte nutzt, die sich in den vielschichtigen „Beziehungen“ seiner Werke offenbaren.

The first solo exhibition by Miryam Charles presents the moving and haunting works of the Haitian-Canadian filmmaker as expansive installations. For the exhibition spaces at basis e.V., the artist has revisited her film Cette Maison alongside several short films, interweaving them through sound.
What emerges are polyphonic soundscapes that make central themes of her work tangible: the entanglement of grief, diasporic memory, identity, and exile.
Die erste Einzelausstellung von Miryam Charles präsentiert die berührenden und intensiven Werke der haitianisch-kanadischen Filmemacherin als ausgreifende Installationen. Für die Ausstellungsräume von basis e.V. hat die Künstlerin ihren Film Cette Maison gemeinsam mit weiteren Kurzfilmen neu gefasst und klanglich miteinander verwoben.
Entstanden sind vielstimmige Klanglandschaften, die zentrale Themen ihrer Arbeit erfahrbar machen: die Verflechtung von Trauer, diasporischem Erinnern, Identität und Exil.
