Workshop and Lecture Performance as part of the "Take a Seat" Exhibition
March 28, 2025 | basis Projektraum, Frankfurt

Workshop "Personal Memory and OtherArchives"
March 28, 2025 | 09:00 — 14:00, basis Leseraum

The workshop "Personal Memory and OtherArchives" is a collaborative effort with the Ukrainian community WAHRTA e.V. (with the support of BVRE e.V.) to explore spaces of thought and experience. In an open atmosphere, the focus is placed on the migration archives of the participants, and through sharing personal stories, a space for reflecting on history and future emerges. Participants are invited to share their experiences and explore the archives of their memories and stories to collectively imagine alternative futures. The workshop offers a place of solidarity and exchange, inviting engagement with personal stories in the context of migration and memory.

Lecture Performance "Dismantling the Master's sTOOLs»
March 28, 2025 | 18:00 — 20:00, basis Leseraum

In the evening, the lecture performance "Dismantling the Master's sTOOLs" will paint a broader picture on the topics of migration, othering, and decolonial voices in the context of PostOst. The performance questions existing power structures and their influence on cultural and societal narratives. It illuminates the decolonization of knowledge and the role of "tools" of power that are often considered invisible but are deeply rooted in our everyday practices. Through a mix of theory, performance, and interactive elements, the space opens for a critical conversation about the conditions of belonging, identity, and resistance.

Both events are part of the program accompanying the exhibition "Take a Seat," which takes place from March 25 to 30, 2025, at the basis Projektraum. The exhibition by the collective de_colonialanguage examines the gap between words and actions and engages with the gaps in action and knowledge that emerge between everyday objects, living spaces, and bureaucratic structures. The exhibition particularly highlights two central objects: the chair as a symbol of power and class affiliation, and the human rights convention as a document of legislative power aimed at protecting and improving life.
