Artist talk with Franziska Wildt and Fabian Ginsberg
on Wednesday, April 2 at 7 pm in the reading room of basis e.V.

The starting point for the artist talk between Franziska Wildt and Fabian Ginsberg is Franziska's work “ANTIGONEPROBEN”, which can be seen in the current exhibition at basis. The work deals with the persecution of the Greek left during the civil war and examines the role of art in their resistance.

Franziska Wildt and Fabian Ginsberg will discuss the role that art can play in critically examining and resisting right-wing violence. Which aesthetic methods of (counter)investigation and (counter)representation can be used? What significance does the process of “rehearsal” have here? How can such aesthetic procedures be protected from being appropriated by the right?

Franziska Wildt is an artist and philosopher. Her work includes artistic, curatorial and journalistic practices. She is co-initiator and director of the research project “Die Kunst der Gegenuntersuchung” at the Institute for Social Research (IfS) and currently teaches aesthetics and philosophy at the Offenbach University of Art and Design (HfG) in the art department.

Fabian Ginsberg is an artist and author. He is part of the collective project SdA - Strategien der Aufstandsbekämpfung, which deals with equivalences between art, the military and political economy.

The lecture will be held in German.
