Liebe basis,
nachdem es länger nicht die Möglichkeite gab, AIR Künstler:innen hier bei basis begrüßen zu können, freuen wir uns Maika Garnica aus Antwerpen und Marianne Mispelaëre aus Straßburg hier zu haben.
Ihre Arbeiten könnt ihr ab heute Abend ab 18 Uhr im basis Projektraum in der Elbestraße sehen. Hierzu möchten wir euch herzlich einladen.
Die Öffnungszeiten der Ausstellung sind: 24.06.-27.06., 15-19 Uhr
Performance von Maika Garnica zusammen mit Aiko Devriendt und Thijs Paijmans: 29.06., 18 Uhr
Durch keramische Skulpturen und Klangobjekte nimmt Maika Garnica ihre Umgebung wahr und erforscht soziale Zusammenhänge. Am Dienstag, den 29. Juni um 18 Uhr wird Maika Garnica zusammen mit Aiko Devriendt und Thijs Paijmans im basis Projektraum ihre Skulpturen und Objekte aktivieren und so den Klang fast sichtbar machen.
Marianne Mispelaëre setzt in ihren Zeichnungen und performativen Aktionen Energien, Medien und Zeichen ein und produziert und reproduziert so prägnante, einfache und präzise Gesten. Dabei hinterfragt sie soziale Beziehungen, Sprache und Kommunikationssysteme zwischen ihrem Entstehen und Verschwinden.

after not having the opportunity to welcome AIR artists here at basis for a while, we are happy to have Maika Garnica from Antwerp and Marianne Mispelaëre from Strasbourg here.
You can see their work from 6pm tonight in the basis project space in Elbestraße. We would like to invite you to join us for this.

Through ceramic sculptures and sound objects, Maika Garnica experiences her surroundings and explores social contexts. On Tuesday 29 June at 6 p.m., Maika Garnica, together with Aiko Devriendt and Thijs Paijmans, will activate her sculptures and objects in the basis project space, thereby making sound almost visible.
Marianne Mispelaëre uses energies, media and signs in her drawings and performative actions, producing and reproducing concise, simple and precise gestures. In doing so, she questions social relations, language and communication systems between appearance and disappearance.
