On Wednesday, July 31 at 6pm, our current AIR_Offenbach guest artist Hye Kyoung Kwon will talk about her artistic practice and project idead. Her three-month residency in Frankfurt takes place in cooperation with MMCA Residency Goyang.

Her artistic practice is about expressing personal experiences and conveying social empathy through painting. During her studies abroad, she explored her identity as a foreigner through mundane objects around her. Since returning to Korea, she has used painting to reflect her worries, emotions and experiences of giving birth and caring for children. Parallel to this self.examination, she has expanded her artistic expression by reproducing objects or creating symbolic paintings.
