Call for proposals: Live-in studios in the former Praunheimer Werkstätten complex in Frankfurt
The production and exhibition platform basis e.V. will be awarding two partially funded live/work studio apartments of approximately 100 square meters each in the building complex of the former Praunheimer Werkstätten residences and workshops for the disabled, the main section of which is currently being used to accommodate refugees. Each apartment will go to two artists to share. The building complex is a listed cultural monument located right next to the River Nidda with direct access to the Niddaauen meadows in the district of Praunheim. The live/work apartments are situated in a former residential and office building with a separate entrance, adjacent to the section of the building used for housing refugees.
The studio apartments each comprise two bedrooms, two studios, a kitchen, bathroom, large hall and loggia.
The rent is € 8.50 per square meter warm (i.e. incl. heating).
The selected artists will be able to move into the studio apartments between March and April 2017.
The basis subsidy program comprises various facilities, offers and possibilities for networking, which the selected artists may also use in the same way as those artists supported by basis working in different locations.

The studios will be awarded for a funding period of five years. Activities by artists working with refugees or referencing this context are expressly welcome and supported by basis e.V.
