AIR Frankfurt & AIR Offenbach: Free Travel Grant 2026

Travel period: 2026–2027

The AIR programme promotes contemporary visual arts and fosters international exchange between the cities of Frankfurt, Offenbach and art contexts worldwide.

The Free Travel Grant enables artists to choose their own destination and work there on new or ongoing projects. It is intended to facilitate independent networking and the further development of their own artistic practice.

 What is provided by AIR_Frankfurt and AIR_Offenbach?
 

• a stipend of 6.800 € to (partially) cover costs related to the travel-project, paid in advance
• The project has to be completed until the end of 2027. A short final report and documentation needs to be handed in afterwards. 

Who can apply?

You can only be considered for the program if you:

• Live in Frankfurt or Offenbach (registered address) or have your centre of work in Frankfurt or Offenbach (studio address)
• have already finished your art-related studies with a degree or "Vollbescheinigung"

How to apply?

Applications need to be submitted via the online form. Your application is classed as complete only when all accompanying documentation was uploaded with the form. The form needs to be send before midnight of the due date.

• artistic CV (max. 2 pages)
• Description of professional background (max. 1500 characters incl. blanks)
• Work proposal and motivation (max. 3000 characters incl. blanks)
• Work portfolio (max. 16 pages), you can add a project-sketch to the portfolio if you like

Please save all of this as one pdf (less then 5MB) and name it with your first name and surname + AIR free travel, before you upload it. All links (e.g. to video works), that you mention in this application form, need to be included in the pdf as well.
