Artist talk with Alexis Gautier

We are delighted to welcome Alexis Gautier from April to June 2019 to stay and work at basis within the framework of Air_Frankfurt and AIR Antwerpen. Alexis Gautier will open the doors of his AIR_Frankfurt guest studio on this evening and give an insight into his current projects.

Alexis Gautier focuses his research on experiments connected to process, transformation and language. His recent works are episodes of a harvest of misunderstandings where travelling, encounters and accidental discoveries becomes fields for collaborative works.
Exploring strategies of story-making, he documents his research and interventions through sculptures, textiles, videos and drawings.

He is currently a resident at AIR_Frankfurt, as well as a student at the Städelschule and a researcher in the Arts at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

The artist talk will take place in the AIR_Frankfurt studio, Gutleutstraße 8-12, 1st floor.

Open Call for artists from Hessen:
IEPA - Residency 2019

Bis zum 9. Mai können sich Künstler*innen mit Wohnsitz in Hessen für ein dreimonatiges Arbeitsstipendium bei NEKaTOENEa an der französisch-baskischen Atlantikküste bewerben.

Das Programm ist eine Kooperation der Produktions- und Ausstellungsplattform basis e.V. Frankfurt und NEKaTOENEa in Hendaye, Frankreich und wird gefördert vom Hessischen Ministerium sowie der Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Ziel ist es, den künstlerischen Austausch zwischen den beiden Partnerregionen zu fördern und den ausgewählten Künstler*innen neue Perspektiven auf das eigene Werk zu ermöglichen. Die jeweils vor Ort entstandenen Arbeiten werden im Anschluss an die Residency in einer Ausstellung bei basis in Frankfurt sowie in Nouvelle-Aquitaine präsentiert. Außerdem entsteht als Abschluss des Projekts ein gemeinsamer Katalog beider Künstler*innen.

Artists from Hessen can apply for the three-month residency at NEKaTOENEa in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France until May 9, 2019.

The IEPA working scholarship is a cooperation between the production and exhibition platform basis e.V. and NEKaTOENEa.
The goal is to promote artistic exchange between the partner regions Nouvelle-Aquitaine in France and the German State of Hessen as well as to enable the selected artists to gain new perspectives on their own work. Following the residency, the works the scholarship holders produce at their respective location will be presented in an exhibition at basis in Frankfurt and in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
A joint catalog on the work of both artists will form the conclusion to the project.

AIR_Frankfurt Open Call: Tel Aviv

Wir freuen uns, Artport Tel Aviv in Israel als neue AIR_Frankfurt – Partneroganisation bekannt zu geben. In den Monaten September, Oktober, November und Dezember 2019 werden Frankfurter Künstler_innen zum ersten Mal eingeladen bei 'Artport' in Tel Aviv zu arbeiten und zu wohnen.

Bildende Künstler_innen, die ihren Lebens- und Arbeitsmittelpunkt in Frankfurt haben, können sich bis zum 8. Mai mit einem Motivationsschreiben und Arbeitsprojekt für einen dreimonatigen Aufenthalt bewerben.

Zeitraum des Austauschs: 15. September - 15. Dezember 2019

We are pleased to announce Artport Tel Aviv in Israel as our new AIR_Frankfurt - partner oganisation. Frankfurt based artists will be invited for the first time to work and live at 'Artport' in Tel Aviv in the months of September, October, November and December.

Young visual artists who predominantly live and work in Frankfurt can apply until May 8 with a motivational letter and a workproposal for a three-month residency
