With Julie Doucet we welcome one of the pioneers of feminist comics. With her direct, sometimes very explicit short stories, she was also the first author of the now legendary Canadian comic publisher Drawn & Quarterly, which became a model for independent and demanding comic publishers worldwide. The publisher and author come from Canada, the guest of honour at this year's Book Fair, which brings a rich cultural programme to Germany throughout the year.

Doucet switched to the fine arts at the turn of the millennium. So we can be all the more excited about the return of this style-defining artist with old and completely new comics.
