Business Happiness

We talk, and in fact, we are talked about. It is the time that expresses itself; its ideology crosses our words and influences our lives. We act and are acted upon. By gathering samples of words from the world of work and its organization, Ariane Loze produces a show whose strangeness surprises.

The first sentences could compel bits of conversations glanced during a cocktail party, one recognizes the contemporary all-entrepreneurship mixed with an ideology of ideal management. Behind these dialogues we can find a reflection on work, its constraints and the space of freedom that everyone is looking for within the framework he creates or undergoes. What about the people who work? Do they talk about work or activity, passion or flexible hours?

Ariane Loze observes, with a precise and profoundly caring eye, the world in which we live, and reports on it through her voice, her gestures, her body, letting herself be crossed by the words of each and every one of us.

Like guest on a film set, the spectator discovers various characters coming to life on the stage of the theater, which represent at the same time a film studio. Ariane Loze plays these characters, one after the other, and transports the spectator into a fragmented time, like the rushes of a film.

The play Business Happiness reflects on our relationship with time. How much time do we dedicate to work? How do we consider the remaining time once a workday ends?

Are we capable of living in the fast lane and experiencing the same sensations? How is our self-awareness evolving in the face of this ambition of absolute control of our lives, when chance and the vagaries of life frequently retain the flavor of it?
