Die australische Künstlerin untersucht mit ihren raumgreifenden Videoinstallationen Kommunikation als Form des emotionalen, kulturellen und sozialen Austauschs jenseits der gesprochenen Sprache und verschiebt hierbei den Fokus auf alternative Formen der sozialen Verständigung und des konventionellen Dialogs. +++ Only until Sunday, January 21, 2018, you have the chance to visit the exhibition "Angelica Mesiti - Polyphonies" at basis.
In her extensive video installations the Australian artist explores communication as a form of emotional, cultural and practical interaction over and above spoken language and thus shifts the focus to alternatives to customary forms of social consensus and conventional dialog. |

Februar bis zum 15. April 2018 die Gruppenausstellung "There Will Come Soft Rains" bei basis zu präsentieren. Die Eröffnung findet am Donnerstag, den 15. Februar um 19 Uhr statt. Die Ausstellung initiiert eine Zeitreise, bei der sich eine Gruppe internationaler KünstlerInnen in das Jahr 2318 begibt. Auf ihrer Expedition trifft sie auf eine neuartige Lebenswelt, in der die menschliche Spezies nahezu vollständig verschwunden ist. Ausgehend von diesem fiktiven Zeitsprung präsentieren die KünstlerInnen ihre Eindrücke einer non-humanen Welt oder erkunden in filmischen Arbeiten in assoziativer Weise die möglichen Ursachen für ein zukünftiges Verschwinden der Menschheit. +++ We are delighted to be presenting the group exhibition "There Will Come Soft Rains" from February 16 to April 15, 2018. The opening is on February 15, 2018 at 7 pm. The exhibition initiates a time-travel scenario, sending a group of international artists to the year 2318. During their expedition they encounter a new world: one in which the human species has almost completely disappeared. Based on this fictional scenario, the artists reveal their visions of a nonhuman world or associatively explore the possible reasons for this future disappearance of humanity. |
